Canon USA's Chuck Westfall indicates that in the US market, and probably most other world regions also, the EOS 20D is on target to ship mid-September.
The week of September 13, 2004 is most likely when Canon's newest digital SLR will begin to roll out to dealers. Shipping times, and the logistics of distributing many units of the camera to locations near and far, will mean that retailers will begin to see the 20D on their loading docks later that same week or the following week.
Though fairly healthy quantities of the 20D are expected to ship from the outset, Canon USA is anticipating that it will take a couple of months before supply begins to catch up with demand for the 8MP, 5 fps camera.
