Sandisk has published a press release that tells the story of how one of the company's CompactFlash cards survived when the camera that was holding it was blown apart. The account includes two unusual photographs.
The incident occurred when Don Frazier, a staff photographer at the Southeast Missourian newspaper, set up three remotely triggered cameras to photograph a bridge demolition.
Sandisk's story includes a photo taken by one of the remote cameras that shows the hurtling debris that would destroy it milliseconds later. Another shot on the web site, captured by one of the other remoted cameras, shows the destroyed camera's last moments.
