Camera Bits has released v4.1.3 of Photo Mechanic for Mac OS X and Windows.
The Read Me for the new version notes the following changes:
- Added support for the following image formats: GIF, BMP, PICT, PNG, and TGA. Also added support for the following movie formats: MOV, AVI, and MPG. The movie formats are sent to an external movie player when "edited". All of these formats require the presence of QuickTime(tm) from Apple Computer (http://www.apple.com/quicktime).
- Added a preference to have double-click on thumbnail send photos to editor or open in preview, and Control (Windows) or Option (Mac) double-click do the opposite.
- Added more control over clearing the fields in the IPTC dialogs. To only clear certain fields of your choice, Shift (Windows) or Option (Mac) click on the Clear button.
- The expanded/collapsed state of the tool panels in the Preview dialog are now remembered.
- A Shift/Option (Windows/Mac) click on the rotate hover buttons now rotates the entire group of selected photos.
- Added option to append the caption when applying the IPTC Stationery Pad. Previously, Photo Mechanic would overwrite any existing caption when applying the caption field.
- Added editable IPTC menu lists for headline, special instructions, transmission reference, and copyright.
- Save As with apply crop checked (and no scaling) and no actual crop no longer makes the saved image one pixel wider and taller.
- HTML Export now weeds out HTML tags from the page titles.
- HTML Export no longer repeats last cell on empty rows.
- HTML Export now preserves filenames properly on non-JPEG file types.
- Added "military" style date variables {datemil} and {todaymil}.
- Detection of file locked status has been improved (this was causing some photos viewed on CD to appear tagged since Photo Mechanic interprets files locked by the camera as "tagged").
- Fixed problem parsing JobMinder IPTC field for display introduced in 4.1.1 (related to line-endings).
- (Mac) When choosing an "Application to edit photos", folders can no longer be chosen.
- (Mac) Fixed problems changing font properties in the slide show text (including a crash bug when the color picker was left open after dismissing the slide show dialog).
- (Mac) Added contact sheet preference to have option click extend the selection and shift key toggle the selection.
- (Win) Fixed problem with not preloading thumbnails in the background.
- (Win) Fixed problem with navigator keeping lock on volumes, preventing removable devices from being removed.
