Pixingo this week released v1.1 of PhotoFirst, a Mac OS X-only application for digital SLR photographers designed to handle the organizing, captioning, comparing and editing of photos, among other tasks.

The US$125 (US$150 on CD with a printed manual) workflow-oriented program is available as a 30-day, fully-functional trial version. A version for Windows XP is planned, but not yet available.
