PDNOnline: Photogs ask Corbis to hunt Kerry photo forger(s)

PDNOnline reports on legal and technological copyright infringement aspects of the recent use of photographs from the early 1970s (two of which were used to create a forgery) attempting to link U.S. presidential candidate John Kerry with controversial anti-war activist Jane Fonda. At least three pictures were taken from the Corbis web site, and PDNOnline reporter Jay DeFoore says that the episode may prove to be an important test of the agency's ability to combat online piracy. Corbis uses both digital watermarking and digital fingerprinting to track the use of its images.
