Wireless Internet service based on Wi-Fi (802.11b, aka Apple Airport) technology is to launch at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport March 1. A recent report suggests that the number of Wi-Fi public access points, commonly referred to as WLAN "hot spots" within the wireless industry, will grow from 3700 in the US to 41,000 by 2007.
