| Canon addresses 1D noise |

Separately, Canon has announced a fix for a single noise line that appears across the top portion of higher-ISO horizontal frames for some EOS-1D users. That fix requires the camera be shipped to a Canon service centre, and is only necessary for earlier serial number units. Canon's web site indicates that if your camera shipped from the factory with firmware v1.2 or later, then it also contains the horizontal noise line fix. Note that the fix is not part of firmware v1.2 or later; instead, it's a tweak to another component in the EOS-1D that Canon rolled into production cameras at about the same time as firmware v1.2.
