Wiebetech's US$100 FireWire Keychain accepts CompactFlash cards for up to 1GB of storage and boasts up to a 5MB/second transfer rate via its FireWire port in a 1.75" x 2.35" x 0.75" (45mm x 60mm x 19mm) box. The device, which acts much like an external CompactFlash card reader, should connect without the installation of specific drivers to modern Mac and PC computers (though it will not be able to transfer photos directly from a FireWire camera). The FireWire Keychain is expected to ship in March. The company also sells mobile and desktop FireWire/USB 1.1/2.0 drives enclosures with/without installed drives. All enclosures use the speedy Oxford 911 bridge component for FireWire connectivity.
