But the display case in the centre of the digital area of Canon's sprawling booth at PMA did contain an Elan-like EOS digital SLR body, with the name plate obscured. Canon staff emphasized that the camera was targeted more at advanced amateurs and business types than pro photographers, but released no other real information. A sign on the display case revealed that the camera would have a greater than 3 million pixel CCD and was tentatively scheduled for a fall 2000 release.
