| Kodak certifies Newer, VST FireWire PC Cards |

Kodak's Mike Deluca indicates that the Newer Technology FireWire 2 Go and VST's FireWire CardBus Card have been dubbed fully compatible with Kodak's FireWire-enabled digital cameras and Mac CardBus-compatible Powerbooks. Kodak has yet to certify any PC Cards for use with any version of Windows; a future version of Kodak's acquire software is expected to bring support for certain PC Cards, including perhaps the Newer and VST cards, to Windows 98 (but not Windows 98 Second Edition). Look for that later this quarter. Notably absent from Kodak's list is Ratoc's CBFW2 for Mac or CBFW1U for Windows FireWire PC Cards. I've been using the CBFW2 for Mac for several months and, as long as the latest driver is installed, have experienced no serious performance problems.
