| Adobe to offer CS6 upgrade pricing to CS3 and CS4 owners |

Partly reversing an earlier policy announcement, Adobe now says that it will offer special upgrade pricing to current users of Creative Suite 3 and 4 who want to upgrade to CS6 when it is rolled out later this year.
Late last year, Adobe announced a change in its longstanding upgrade pricing policy, which provided discounted upgrade pricing to anyone who owned a license for a Creative Suite application or bundle going back three major releases — i.e. users of CS3, CS4, or CS5 would have been eligible for an upgrade discount on CS6 under that system. The new policy stated that only users of CS5 would be eligible for an upgrade discount on CS6.
Yesterday's statement announcing special upgrade pricing for CS3 and CS4 users doesn't include specific prices, and it's presented as a special offer rather than a reversion to the previous upgrade policy. The offer will be good from the date that CS6 becomes available until December 31, 2012. Adobe says it will announce more details, which presumably will include specific upgrade prices, when CS6 is announced.
