| Jason Odell: Capture NX2 v2.3.0 delivers significant performance improvements |

Nikon Capture NX2 v2.3.0, released yesterday, introduces dramatic speedups in the Mac version, says Jason Odell, author of several ebooks on Nikon's RAW conversion and image editing software. In a blog post, he details the results of a small series of intensive tests in which he saw performance improvements ranging from about 80% to over 750%, relative to v2.2.8.
Some of the boost can be attributed to being able to run the program in 64-bit mode for the first time, but the main reason for the better performance appears to be some serious under-the-hood optimizations done by Nik (the developer of Capture NX2 for Nikon).
