| Canon Canada sets EOS-1D X price and availability (updated) |
| Monday, November 14, 2011 | by Rob Galbraith |
 |
A notice to Canadian Canon Professional Services (CPS) members, sent out today by email, sets the price of the upcoming EOS-1D X at CDN$6999.99, with shipments to commence in March 2012.
This is about the same as what Canon USA announced at the time the new 1-series model was unveiled last month. In the U.S., the expected street price is to be US$6800 when the camera goes on sale at the end of March 2012.
The notice is reproduced below. Also note that retailers in Canada can now submit pre-orders for the new model.
Update, November 15, 2011: New information from Canon Canada suggests that the CDN$6999.99 price will probably be what dealers charge customers who are not CPS members, and that like all previous 1-series digital SLRs sold in Canada, there will probably be a lower price given to Canadian CPS members exclusively. Whether that's the case, and if so, what the CPS price for the EOS-1D X will be, won't be determined until closer to the camera's ship date next year.
