Melanie Mann, author of the
Confessions of a Mad Photo Assistant blog, recently published
a lengthy post breaking down the lighting setups, with explanations and diagrams, of several top photographers, including Annie Leibovitz, Patrick Ecclesine, Jill Greenberg, Dave Hill and Martin Schoeller.
Mann used a combination of behind-the-scenes videos and her own knowledge and experience to suss out the lighting on a range of images from very highly produced shots by Leibovitz and Hill to the simple and straightforward portraits of Schoeller.
