Paul C. Buff has started to take orders for the newest additions to its line of Parabolic Light Modifier (PLM) umbrellas. All three surfaces, all three sizes and both mounting methods of the efficient umbrellas can be ordered as of today, including all Soft Silver and 8mm straight shaft models. Shipping of the speedring mount versions begins this week, with the straight shaft versions following at the end of the month, says Lori Smith, customer service manager at the company.

Paul C. Buff has also posted reams of new PLM information and pictures,
including comparisons of the various PLM versions with competing
products from Westcott and others. Based on these pictures, the Soft
Silver surface PLMs appear to offer a sweet balance of efficiency and
light quality and are likely to be the most popular of the three PLM
surface types.
