| Canon testing software compatibility with OS X Lion |

Canon in Japan has begun the process of testing Digital Photo Professional and other current digital SLR software with OS X Lion, the new operating system for Mac, says Canon USA Technical Advisor Chuck Westfall.
Once testing is complete, a report will be made available to Canon USA and other Canon sales companies globally that details what trouble spots exist, if any. While a firm timeline for the report has not been set, Westfall expects it to materialize relatively soon: typically, this type of report follows within about a month of the public availability of a new Mac or Windows OS release.
The same report is likely to include guidance on when OS X Lion-compatible updaters will be posted. (Canon USA's website already has some product compatibility information posted, but as of this writing it's limited to consumer printers and scanners.)
Canon last updated the Mac versions of its key digital SLR applications - Digital Photo Professional, EOS Utility and Picture Style Editor - in April 2011.
