Visura magazine has published
a story by 27-year-old photojournalist Katie Orlinksy, who was traveling and photographing with Chris Hondros and Tim Hetherington in Libya on the day the two men were killed and in the days leading up to it.
Orlinsky's piece gives a heart-felt account of her experiences, thoughts, and feelings surrounding the death of her friends. Orlinsky was covering her first war and was excited to be working alongside two of the world's top war photographers. Hondros in particular, whom she had known for several years, emerges from her account as a mentor.
The story is accompanied by more than 40 of Orlinsky's images from Libya.
