Kingston has announced the Wi-Drive, a pocket-sized external hard drive that connects via Wi-Fi (802.11 g/n) to iOS devices. It will be available in 16GB and 32GB versions.

Using a companion app running on the iOS device, it can wirelessly distribute media and other files such as photos, video, music, and PDF documents to up to three devices simultaneously with a range of about 30 ft./9m, according to Kingston. The media files must be pre-loaded onto the Wi-Drive from a Windows or Mac computer. It appears that files cannot be transferred from an iOS device to the Wi-Drive. 

Both versions of the Wi-Drive will ship in late June and will carry suggested list prices of US$129.99 (16GB) and US$174.99 (32GB) in the U.S.
