Shutterbug has published an interesting
feature story on automotive photographer Richard Izui. The story includes several fairly detailed descriptions of the complex lighting setups—some involving well over 20,000 watt-seconds of light—and post-processing tactics needed to do car photography commercially.
Partly in response to the need for so much gear, much of it specialized for automotive photography, Izui often drives a motor home to location shoots, towing a trailer filled with what is essentially a large portable studio.
