| CalDigit updates USB 3.0 drivers to support Mac OS X 10.6.7 |

CalDigit has updated the Mac driver for its USB 3.0 SuperSpeed PCI Express Card and SuperSpeed ExpressCard for Laptop products. Version 1.2.6 of the driver adds support for Mac OS X 10.6.7 as well as the Thunderbolt-equipped MacBook Pro 17 inch.
CalDigit's ExpressCard/34 and PCIe cards are the only USB 3.0 add-ins we know of that are both compatible with the Mac and also allow any brand of USB 3.0 peripheral to be connected to the Mac, not just the company's own. LaCie, for example, sells ExpressCard/34 and PCIe USB 3.0 cards for Mac too, but they only operate at USB 3.0 speeds when LaCie drives are hooked up. (Well, unless their driver is hacked.)
Version 1.2.6 of CalDigit's Mac USB 3.0 driver is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 - 10.5.8 and 10.6 - 10.6.7. The Windows drivers have not been updated and remain at release 2040, dated September 2010.
