Canon Europe has announced that the free Canon EOS Movie Plugin-E1 for Final Cut Pro is being updated to version 1.2, which will be available for download beginning April 25, 2011.

The plugin helps simplify and speed up the transfer of video footage from Canon DSLR cameras into editable format in Apple Final Cut Pro. The v1.2 update eliminates some file handling restrictions that existed in previous versions related to importing footage from desktop folders. 

The steps necessary to download the plugin vary from region to region; in the U.S. it is accessed through the "Drivers and Downloads" link on the product web page for any video-enabled Canon DSLR.
