| Fujifilm FinePix X100 release now scheduled for early April |
| Monday, March 28, 2011 | by Rob Galbraith |

A notice (English translation) posted today on the Fujifilm Japan website indicates the FinePix X100 should begin to ship in early April. While originally slated for release in the middle of March worldwide, the recent earthquake and tsunami that devastated Japan caused an interruption in X100 production and subsequent delay in broad availability. While the early-April release described in the notice appears to apply to the Japanese domestic market only, it is perhaps a sign the much-anticipated camera will soon be shipping around the globe.
The FinePix X100
features a 12.3MP, 1.5x-size CMOS sensor, 35mm (equivalent) f/2 fixed
lens, a slick optical/electronic Hybrid Viewfinder and 720p video
capture.
