| Nikon unveils eight Coolpix cameras including P300 with f/1.8 lens |

Nikon has rolled out eight new Coolpix compact digital cameras, including one model, the P300, that sports a 24-100mm (equivalent) zoom with a maximum aperture of f/1.8 at the wide end. Other features include a 12 million image pixel CMOS sensor, 1920 x 1280 pixel video capture, an ISO range of 160-3200 and full manual exposure control but no option to shoot RAW, connect an external microphone or mount an external flash.

The Coolpix P300 is to ship next month at an expected street price of US$329.95.
