Announced in June and originally slated to ship this week, the Zoom H1 is now to pegged for release on August 20. The H1, Zoom's smallest field audio recorder to date, should be a great complement to a
digital SLR capturing video on location.
The H1 features an x/y mic arrangement similar to the larger H4N,
a single 3.5mm input jack for an external mic, up to 24-bit/96 kHz WAV
or 320kbps MP3 recording to microSD card, a built-in speaker plus 3.5mm
line out/headphone jack and what appears to be a smart control
arrangement.
The Zoom H1 has an expected street
price of about US$99 in the U.S.
