The GigaPan EPIC Pro, a robotic camera mount designed to automate the photographing of panoramas comprised of hundreds or even thousands of individual pictures, is slated to ship in April 2010 for US$895.
Unlike earlier models in the GigaPan line, the EPIC Pro will accommodate a digital SLR camera and lens combination weighing up to 10lbs (4.5kg). It can trigger most Canon and Nikon cameras, includes a rechargeable battery pack, can be configured for a variety of panorama shooting situations and ships with GigaPan Stitch software.
