LPA Design has released public beta firmware v4.374 for the PocketWizard MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 for Canon. Changes since the company's first public beta release of firmware for the radio remote devices last month include automatic camera model detection for all compatible Canon digital SLRs, the ability to enable pre-flash boost at the transmitter (it was limited to the receiver previously) and the addition of the Metz 58 AF-1 to the list of flash units compatible with the MiniTT1 and FlexTT5.
More information on this firmware update is here.
To install v4.374 into your MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 units, first ensure that you have PocketWizard Utility 1.18.9 for Mac and Windows installed. Then, from within the application, indicate your willingness to participate in the beta testing program (instructions are in a previous article). After that, click Check for Updates to begin the download and installation process.
This is the second of perhaps three public beta firmware releases of what will eventually become v5.00 when LPA Design declares the firmware final. The beta page on the LPA Design website (follow the link then scroll to the end) describes the ways you can give feedback about your experience with this and future beta firmware that you load.
