| Leica announces full-frame M9 digital rangefinder plus compact X1 |

Leica has officially unveiled the M9, an 18.11 million image pixel digital rangefinder camera featuring a full-frame sensor developed by Kodak, as well as the X1, a compact digital camera that incorporates a 12.20 million image pixel sensor similar in size to most entry-level and midrange digital SLRs.
Digital Photography Review has a preview of the M9, an introduction to the X1 plus a tour of Leica's German factory.
