Apple revamps laptop lineup
Monday, June 8, 2009 | by Rob Galbraith
At the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco today, the company rolled out revised 13 inch and 15 inch laptops that feature wider gamut displays, longer battery life and a Secure Digital (SD) slot. Plus, FireWire returns to the unibody-style MacBook (which has now been given the same MacBook Pro moniker as Apple's 15 inch and 17 inch portables).

Both the 13 inch and 15 inch models are offered only with glossy displays, as before, while the 15 inch model forsakes its ExpressCard 34 slot to make way for the SD slot. The longer life batteries of each model are similar in design to the 17 inch MacBook Pro: they're built-in and not readily removable, and have a promised longer service life than a typical notebook battery.
