| Nokia 808 PureView smartphone photos show surprisingly good image quality |
| Making the rounds of tech websites today is news of the Nokia 808 PureView smartphone and its 41-megapixel image sensor. Which, at first, seems like an absurd number of pixels to stuff into a camera inside a phone. The sample photos, however, tell a different story. The 808 PureView's 1/1.2"-size sensor and 8.0mm f/2.4 Carl Zeiss-branded lens join up to produce crisp, clear and truly high-resolution pictures, at least in the bright outdoor conditions in which the samples were taken. Even if you have no interest in this phone, it's still worth taking a moment to download and view the 33.65 and 38.39 million image pixel JPEGs that Nokia has posted. |
