Nikon warns of counterfeit digital batteries
Various Nikon subsidiaries recently released a warning that the company has discovered counterfeit rechargeable digital camera batteries bearing the Nikon brand name. Tests by Nikon in Japan determined that these batteries lack a thermal safety feature, "and if they get too hot, they might burst and cause damage," says David Dentry, Digital Products Technical Information Manager at Nikon, Inc.

Phase One is gearing up to release yet another version of its RAW file browsing and processing software for digital SLR cameras. The new version, dubbed C1 SE, will include many of the PRO version's features, but at a lower cost: at the introduction of C1 SE, the price has been set at EUR/US$199, with a jump to EUR/US$249 after an unspecified period.
