Apple has - at long last - brought quad-core processors to its MacBook Pro line. Both the 15 inch and 17 inch models, introduced today, come standard with Intel Core i7 quad-core processors, while the 13 inch, 15 inch and 17 inch all gain Apple's new Thunderbolt high speed peripheral/display port (but lack native USB 3.0). A public beta of firmware v1.0 for Wearable's AirStash wireless reader is now available. The main change in the new firmware is WebDAV support, which enables iWork (and perhaps other) apps on an Apple iOS device to read from and write to an SD card in a wireless-connected AirStash. It also improves video streaming and lays the groundwork for the company's upcoming photo app for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. The app will include the ability to import photos both one at a time and in batches, with an option to reduce the resolution of pics as they arrive.

Wireless syncing with Lightroom to be possible with Photosmith app for iPad

The app will also allow for full-resolution viewing of RAW format photos.
