Wireless memory card maker Eye-Fi has introduced the Eye-Fi Pro X2, an 8GB SDHC card that features an 802.11n radio for quicker uploading, faster read/write speeds to the card itself and a new option called Endless Memory that enables the card to automatically delete the oldest photos and video from the card once it has confirmed they've been successfully transferred to their destination. The company is also releasing a companion application, called Eye-Fi Center, that allows a wireless network configuration to be added to the card even when not connected to the Internet and can manage the republishing of photos and video to various online destinations, including photos and video not originally captured to an Eye-Fi card. |

The EOS-1D Mark IV, Canon's 16.06 million image pixel, 10fps replacement for the troubled EOS-1D Mark III, has been released for sale in the U.S. and Canada. We've received the first reports of photographers taking delivery of the camera in the U.S. starting on December 31, while we've confirmed that Canon Canada commenced shipments starting on December 30 (shipping times and today's holiday mean that most Canadian dealers outside the Toronto area won't receive their initial allotment of bodies before early next week). |
