Canon announces 17.92 million image pixel, 8fps EOS 7D
Canon has announced the EOS 7D, a 17.92 million image pixel digital SLR that fires at up to 8fps, sports newly-developed 19-point AF and 63-zone metering systems, a dual-axis electronic level, wireless TTL control via the built-in flash and 1080p video in a body whose controls are more configurable than any EOS camera to date. The EOS 7D is Canon's most ambitious new digital SLR in some time, and is clearly meant to attract professional photographers as well as compete directly with Nikon's D300 and D300s in both features and price. Nikon Capture NX2 v2.2.2, Camera Control Pro 2.6.0 now available
Nikon has recently updated Capture NX2 to v2.2.2, and Camera Control Pro to v2.6.0, for both Mac and Windows. The new releases add support for the D300s and D3000 as well as fix bugs. Apple has released Aperture 2.1.4, a maintenance update for the pro photo management and RAW conversion application for Mac. Canon introduces PowerShot models with improved low light sensitivity
Canon has unveiled a range of new compact digital cameras in its PowerShot line, including two models featuring a "High Sensitivity System" for promised improved low light operation. The first of the two is the PowerShot G11, a 9.98 million image pixel model featuring a 2.8 inch (diagonal) tilt-and-swivel rear LCD, 28-140mm (equivalent) lens and RAW+JPEG shooting. The second is the PowerShot S90, which features the same CCD sensor as the G11, a 3.0 inch rear LCD, RAW+JPEG shooting and 28-105mm (equivalent) zoom with a maximum aperture of f/2.0 at the wide end.

Nikon has released ViewNX 1.4.0 for Mac and Windows. LPA Design has announced the CE versions of the PocketWizard MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 for Canon have been shipped to distributors in several countries in Europe plus Australia, New Zealand and United Arab Emirates.
